Say hello to Elymay! 🐾
This 39 lb black tri-color Border Collie beauty is as sweet as they come! Estimated to be around 4–5 years old, Elymay was found as a stray, and while she can be a little shy at first, it doesn’t take long before she’s leaning in for love and following you around like a shadow.

She’s still polishing up her skills — potty training, leash walking, and basic commands are all in the works — but she’s a smart cookie and eager to learn. She’s already a pro at fetch (seriously, she lives for it) and loves her toys almost as much as she loves her people.

Elymay is also a total social butterfly with other dogs, showing great manners and play cues. She’s got the heart of a herder and the soul of a snugglebug — the perfect mix of fun and faithful.

Elymay’s Story | Elymay came to us from the Independence Animal Shelter in Independence, MO, after being picked up as a stray alongside a few other dogs. Sadly, while the others were reclaimed by their owner, Elymay was left behind. Shelter staff gave her time and care, but it was clear the noisy, stressful environment was tough on her — she struggled to fully settle in, and her shy nature made it harder for potential adopters to see her sweet personality shine through.

Despite the challenges, Elymay never showed any signs of aggression — just a quiet, gentle spirit waiting for the right place to feel safe. The shelter knew she needed a foster or rescue to help her truly blossom, and that’s where we came in.

Now in our care, Elymay is beginning to show her playful, loving side, and we can already see the wonderful dog she’s becoming with a little patience and a lot of love.
